Mazen Kassis is Head of Data and Analytics at Foodstuffs, New Zealand. He is a highly respected leader renowned for his ability to transform data into actionable insights that drive business growth. Mazen's work spans multiple industries across New Zealand, Australia, West Asia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, consistently demonstrating his passion for leveraging data to enhance people's lives. At Foodstuffs, Mazen leads the data and analytics practice with a mission to help keep the country fed.
Mazen holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems and Statistics from Macquarie University, postgraduate degree in Biostatistics from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Evaluation from the University of Melbourne. Mazen is a Certified Information Privacy Manager with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Mazen's academic background and hands-on experience make him a thought leader in data governance, technology, privacy, and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). He has worked extensively to raise awareness of the ethical and responsible use of AI in business, embedding privacy by design into large-scale data ecosystems, ensuring compliance with privacy and other regulations and engendering trust among stakeholders.
